Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate English Teacher to join our fantastic school in Lowestoft. This is a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will lead our Accelerated Reader program at Key Stage 3, demonstrating a deep appreciation for literacy development and a proven track record of implementing effective reading initiatives.
What will you be doing as an English Teacher:
* Oversee the implementation of the Accelerated Reader program at Key Stage 3
* Monitor student progress and devise targeted interventions to support students in achieving their reading goals
* Collaborate closely with colleagues to integrate the Accelerated Reader program seamlessly into our English curriculum
* Foster a culture of reading throughout the school
* Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback and support
* Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
* Engage with parents and guardians to support students' literacy development
English Teacher Requirments:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching English at the secondary level, particularly Key Stage 3
* Strong understanding of literacy development and effective teaching practices
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to inspire and motivate students
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
