TeacherActive are proud to be working with an ambitious Secondary School based in North Devon. We are actively recruiting for an SEND English Teacher to support the school with a quality and consistent staff member, who is passionate about education and has a good level of experience within secondary schools and teaching English as a specialist subject.
They are looking for an SEND English Teacher who has an in depth knowledge of the curriculum and excellent classroom management. They’re looking to hire for a full-time permanent role. The successful SEND English Teacher will be working across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4. You will be nurturing the inquisitive minds of your pupils, providing them with the positive foundations in communication skills, written and verbal. You will also need to have experience teaching/supporting students with complex needs, in this position you will be supporting students with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) needs.
If you are a quick thinker, are able to adapt your teaching styles and ideas in the classroom, and have a compassionate and empathetic nature, you could be the perfect person for the role. The successful SEND Teacher will have:
QTS (ECT’s welcomed to apply)
An English Specialism
SEND / SEMH Experience
CACHE LEVEL 2/3 OR 6 months experience
Be confident in their ability to manage a class of students within the age range 11 to 16+
Be able to manage behaviour in the classroom to ensure students remain engaged
Be flexible to work throughout the school within different departments and with different age ranges daily
