Tradewind Recruitment is working with a forward-thinking secondary academy in the Tameside area to recruit a dedicated Teacher of English for a full-time sickness cover from as soon as possible through to December 2026, with the potential to continue into the next academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for both Early Career Teachers and experienced QTS/QTLS practitioners seeking a well-supported role with strong daily rates of pay.

Daily rate: £170-£240 per day (depending on experience)

The role

You will be teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 3:00pm. The role requires a teacher who can deliver engaging, inclusive lessons and maintain a calm and focused classroom environment.

The ideal candidate will:

Have strong behaviour management skills and create a respectful and supportive learning environment
Be able to adapt lessons to suit a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs
Demonstrate the ability, or strong potential, to support students in exceeding expected progress
Be flexible, committed and enthusiastic about teaching English
Have a genuine passion for helping young people develop their literacy, confidence and love of EnglishThe school

This is a smaller-than-average, well-established secondary academy in the Tameside area, serving students aged 11-16.

The school has a forward-thinking approach to education and provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

To be considered for this role, you must:

Hold QTS, QTLS or be an Early Career Teacher
Have experience teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4
Provide a full CV with complete employment and education history
Have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS
