Education Personnel are looking to recruit a passionate and motivated English Teacher in Matlock, Derbyshire, to work with our partner secondary schools in Matlock and the surrounding Derbyshire Dales.
This opportunity is suitable for qualified English Teachers who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE English Language and English Literature.
We welcome applications from experienced Secondary English Teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) seeking flexible supply work, long-term teaching assignments or permanent positions.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons across KS3 and KS4.

Teach reading, writing, grammar, poetry, prose and drama.

Support pupils preparing for GCSE English examinations.

Plan and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum and school requirements.

Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with different abilities.

Maintain strong classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment.

Contribute to departmental activities and pupil progress monitoring.
The Ideal Candidate
*
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*
Has experience teaching English in a UK secondary school.
*
Has strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum.
*
Is confident teaching GCSE English Language and Literature.
*
Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
*
Has a genuine passion for literacy, literature and pupil achievement.
