£42,000- £46,000

Forever Education is supporting a unique independent Special Educational Needs (SEN) group based in London, which provides therapeutic education for children and young people with special educational and neurodiverse learning needs. The school is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced English Teacher to join their school based in Barking, East London on an immediate basis or from September 2026. You will deliver English across KS3/KS4.

JOB DESCRIPTION

* Deliver engaging and differentiated english lessons to students with SEMH needs, ensuring their progress and attainment.

* Deliver 50% online timetable and 50% in the classroom.

* Develop individualised learning plans and adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students' varying abilities and learning styles.

* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic growth.

* Employ a range of teaching techniques and resources to enhance students' understanding of English concepts.

* Utilise assessment tools effectively to monitor students' progress, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback.

* Collaborate with other members of the school community, including SENCOs, support staff, and parents/guardians, to create a holistic support system for students.

* Implement behaviour management strategies and techniques to address challenging behaviours and support students in developing self-regulation skills.

* Maintain accurate records of students' achievements, attendance, and behaviour, and provide reports as required.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

* Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.

* Specialisation in English, with a strong understanding of the subject curriculum

* Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a similar SEN environment.

* Knowledge of effective SEMH teaching strategies and interventions.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.

* Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

* Strong organisational and time management skills.

* Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to learn new approaches.
