KS3 & KS4 English | Full Teaching Commitment | Secondary School | Long-Term Opportunity

Qualified English teaching opportunity covering KS3 and KS4, with full classroom, planning, assessment and pastoral responsibilities within a secondary school setting.

A secondary school is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join its teaching team in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, delivering English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is a full teaching commitment suited to a qualified professional who can take responsibility for planning, teaching, assessment and pupil progress.

The position provides the opportunity to work within a structured secondary school environment, teaching pupils across the relevant key stages and contributing fully to the wider responsibilities expected of a classroom teacher.

What You Will Be Responsible For...

The successful candidate will take ownership of their teaching timetable and will be expected to:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teach the English curriculum in line with departmental expectations
Prepare pupils for GCSE examinations where applicable
Assess and monitor pupil progress
Provide clear and constructive feedback
Adapt teaching to support different abilities and learning needs
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Contribute to departmental planning and development
Work collaboratively with colleagues
Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and other professionals
Follow safeguarding, attendance and school policiesThis is not simply a lesson-cover position. The successful applicant will be expected to take full responsibility for their classes and contribute as a member of the wider teaching team.

Person Requirements:

You should have:

Essential

Qualified Teacher Status or recognised equivalent
Strong subject knowledge in English
Experience teaching at secondary level
Experience delivering KS3 and/or KS4 English
Strong classroom management
A clear understanding of assessment and pupil progress
Commitment to safeguarding and professional standardsDesirable

GCSE English teaching experience
Experience preparing pupils for examinations
Previous experience within a secondary school department
