As the Head/Director of English, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the English department and foster a culture of excellence within the school community.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing visionary leadership and strategic direction for the English department

* Create and maintain an environment and a code of behaviour that promotes and secures good teaching, effective learning and high standards of achievement

* Mentoring and supporting English teachers to enhance their teaching practice

* Monitoring student progress and implementing effective intervention strategies

* Collaborating with colleagues to promote cross-curricular links and language immersion opportunities

* Liaising with parents, stakeholders, and external partners to promote the importance of language education

Our ideal candidate will possess:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Proven leadership experience within a school setting

* Expertise in teaching English at Secondary level

* Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills

* Ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues

* Commitment to promoting cultural awareness and diversity

* Visionary mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
