Smile Education is working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in the West Bromwich area to recruit an enthusiastic English Academic Mentor for September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, experienced Learning Support Assistants, Cover Supervisors, or anyone with a strong English background looking to make a real difference.
Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed, with flexibility available for the right candidate.
The Role
As an English Academic Mentor, you will:
Deliver targeted intervention sessions to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils improve their literacy, reading and writing skills.
Support classroom teachers to raise attainment and student confidence.
Help prepare students for GCSE English examinations.
Encourage engagement and foster a positive learning environment.We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Holds a degree in English or a related subject (or has relevant classroom experience).
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about education and supporting young people.
Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
