Description:
We are looking for an Engineering Technician to support the maintenance and operation of automated warehouse equipment.
The role involves a combination of reactive fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance, working as part of an engineering team to keep equipment operating effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to equipment faults and carry out fault finding, repairs and corrective actions.
* Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and equipment servicing.
* Support engineers and team leaders with technical issues.
* Monitor and resolve faults to minimise downtime and disruption.
* Identify recurring faults and report or suggest potential improvements.
* Carry out technical cleaning and maintenance of automated areas.
* Follow equipment manuals, manufacturer recommendations and company procedures.
* Work in line with Health & Safety and quality requirements.
* Manage and prioritise a varied workload of reactive and preventative maintenance.
* Communicate with customers and colleagues regarding faults and technical issues.
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday, working 8–9 hour shifts.
* When covering holidays or sickness, you may be required to work 12-hour day and night shifts.
Requirements
Essential:
* Level 2 Engineering qualification and/or significant previous experience in an automation environment.
* Experience within machinery, maintenance or an electrical engineering environment.
* Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
* Understanding of PPM schedules.
* Willingness to work at height and climb a 30-metre vertical ladder following appropriate training.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
Desirable:
* Experience in an industrial or materials handling environment.
* Electrical or mechanical qualifications.
* Fault-finding and repair experience.
* Previous customer service experience.
* Understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
* Ability to read mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings/manuals.
* Basic understanding of PLC equipment.
* Good PC skills
