About the company
We are working with an established food manufacturing business is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to lead the maintenance function within a fast-paced production environment.
The role is responsible for ensuring high equipment reliability, minimising downtime, leading a team of maintenance engineers, and driving continuous improvement across engineering operations. Working closely with Production, Quality, Health & Safety, and other site functions, you will ensure engineering activities support operational performance, compliance, and long-term asset reliability.

Previous engineering experience within a chilled food manufacturing or FMCG production environment
Experience leading or supervising engineering teams in a manufacturing setting
Experience managing engineering KPIs, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
Familiarity with CMMS systems, engineering stores, and spare parts management
Experience working within customer-focused manufacturing environments
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Effective problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
Promote collaboration across Engineering, Production, Hygiene, Quality, and Health & Safety teams to improve operational performance and food safety
Lead and support the day-to-day activities of the maintenance engineering team, ensuring effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance
Act as the engineering lead during operational incidents, ensuring effective communication and escalation
Strong planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills
