Engineering Surveyor
Location - Plymouth
My client is looking for an engineering surveyor to work on a live MOD site.

Key Tasks
- Check and maintain survey control networks.
- Assurance surveys for construction of RC structures; through pre-pour, post-pour checks.
- As-built surveys, through laser scanning and modelling of point clouds.
- Ensure survey data is collected and recorded accurately, following project QA/QC standards. Operating survey equipment to the highest of precision within a civils environment.
- Support engineers with setting out activities to ensure consistent approaches to surveying and engineering.
- Support the preparation of survey reports, drawings, and data outputs for engineering and construction teams.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment between construction programme and survey operations.
- Support machine control application for excavation, demolition and drilling operations. Check design and create models for machine control.
- Provide check reports and as-builts, through laser scanning and modelling of point clouds.
- Assist with the implementation of quality control procedures, particularly in accordance with QC1 requirements; maintaining the highest standards of traceability, tolerances, reporting.
- Manage and archive survey files and records to support project compliance and audits, using the Projects Document Management system.
- Attend daily briefings and provide updates on survey progress and issues.
- Ensure all surveying works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Support other surveying work packages as required.

Requirements
- Degree, diploma, or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or Construction.
- Site based role.
- Potential for shift work, operating on a 7/3/7/4 shift pattern as per programme needs.
- Experience in surveying and construction industries.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar surveying position on a civil engineering project.
- Experience with surveying equipment; total stations, GPS/GNSS and laser scanners.
- Survey data processing software; AutoCAD Civil 3D, Leica Infinity, Leica Cyclone and Leica 3DR.
- Understanding of QC1 procedures and quality documentation in a civils context.
- CSCS Card and relevant site safety qualifications.
- Member of the CinstCES (or technical member working towards full member), or another body
