Whitley Bridge | £56,000 | Monday-Friday, 40 Hours (Days Only)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Supervisor to join a highly automated food manufacturing and milling operation. Reporting into site management, you will lead and support a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance while driving reliability, safety, compliance and engineering performance across a 24/7 production environment.

The role is hands-on and would suit an experienced Engineering Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with strong leadership skills and either an electrical, mechanical or multi-skilled background.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, support and develop the site engineering team.
Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities and contractor work.
Manage PPM schedules and drive reductions in unplanned downtime.
Support breakdowns, fault finding and continuous improvement activities.
Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety and audit standards.
Support site projects and engineering budget management.
Act as an escalation point for out-of-hours engineering issues.

Requirements

ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Previous experience leading or supervising engineers.
Strong maintenance engineering background within manufacturing.
Experience with planned and reactive maintenance systems.
Good knowledge of pneumatics and fault finding.
NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification desirable for electrically biased candidates.
Food/FMCG, bakery, milling or other high-volume manufacturing experience advantageous.
