Job Title: Engineering Sales Manager
Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 per annum + performance-related bonus

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive commercial growth, develop strategic customer relationships and secure new business opportunities across the UK's engineering and manufacturing sectors.

You will be responsible for developing a strong pipeline of opportunities, growing existing accounts and converting enquiries into profitable, long-term contracts. Working closely with leadership, estimating, engineering and production teams, you will ensure commercial proposals align with customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Developing and implementing a sales strategy that supports sustainable business growth.
* Identifying new customers, projects and market opportunities within engineering and manufacturing sectors.
* Building and strengthening relationships with key accounts.
* Managing the full sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to contract award.
* Maintaining accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting and business development plans.
* Preparing commercially competitive and technically credible proposals in collaboration with internal teams.
* Reviewing project scope, specifications, pricing and commercial risks.
* Monitoring market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
* Representing the business at customer meetings, site visits, exhibitions and industry events.
* Reporting on sales performance, pipeline activity and market developments.

Requirements:
* A proven background in technical sales, business development or sales management within engineering, fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
* Experience selling project-based or engineered-to-order solutions.
* The ability to understand technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
* Strong negotiation, proposal-writing and commercial management skills.
* A track record of securing profitable new business and developing long-term customer relationships.
* Experience working within quality-critical or highly regulated industries.
* Strong pipeline management, forecasting and reporting capabilities.
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
* Experience within nuclear, oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, defence, process engineering or similar high-integrity sectors would be advantageous.
