What we do. 

Due to the success of our bread sites, we are expanding our engineering team and have a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering Planner to join our busy food manufacturing facilities in Cheshire.  Our 2 bread sites based in Crewe and Nantwich make specialty hand-crafted flatbreads, baguettes, doughballs and ciabattas for customers including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsburys.

About the role.  

This role will suit an experienced Planning Engineer or an Engineer with exposure to maintenance planning or Engineering Planning.

Accountabilities: 

Comply with Bakkavor SHE and all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements.
Manage and maintain the CMMS system to ensure engineering work orders are planned, allocated and resourced effectively.
Ensure follow up work orders are planned & resourced.
Maintain a ‘live’ maintenance system by ensuring the PPMs are reviewed, adapted and continually improved.
Provide support and back-up to the Maintenance Manager as required
Manage contractors where required.
Ensuring that all H&S procedures, engineering best practices are adhered to at all times.
Manage the compliance register and actions relating to engineering through the planned maintenance system.
Liaise with the planning function to ensure maintenance time is allocated to meet the plan.
Generate reports as required to support the engineering and Senior Management teams.
Support the development of the CMMS system by liaising with other sites and the CMMS system provider.  

About you.  

Knowledge of engineering planning.
Previous maintenance or engineering experience – manufacturing environment preferable.
Self-managing - Must be able to work under own supervision or as part of a team.
Flexible working attitude.
Sound communication / training skills with ability to apply these when under pressure.
Ability to work alongside people with diverse skills and understanding.
Methodical record keeping is essential.
Good level of computer skills – (Microsoft office – Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook).
