Location: Croydon, South London

Shifts: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Circa £76,000 per annum + 20% Annual Bonus + Private Medical Insurance

The Company:

My client is a national energy recovery company, with over 300 sites across the country. This ethical, sector leading firm is seeking an experienced engineering manager with a background working on industrial environments to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

This ERF facility processes over 300 tonnes of non-hazardous residual waste a year. Wider environmental benefits will include the landfill diversion of up to 95 per cent of waste delivered to the facility and the generation of power to 60,000 homes across the South East.

The Role:

The ideal candidate would be a competent Engineering and Maintenance Manager within a waste to energy, ERF, or gas/steam turbine power station experience. As the leader of the engineering department, it is fundamental you are able to manage contractors to deliver against KPI’s, overseeing the processed of the waste to energy industry or power industry, including the management of PSSR legislation, organise maintenance management systems, monitor a 10 million pound budget, ensure Health and Safety e.g. method statements, risk assessments and signing in procedures are adhered to, negotiate prices for equipment and tools and more.

You will be solely responsible for looking after Mechanical, Electrical and C&I Engineers and the assisting office team. Therefore you will need previous “hands on” experience and to be competent with both electrical and mechanical engineering in order to train, mentor and assist with projects.

Requirements:

Educated to degree level and/or with an appropriate formal business qualification.

Previous experience within waste to energy / power generator / ERF facility or similar.

*

Legislative knowledge within waste / health and safety within the power industry.

*

Demonstrate strong communication skills and evidence of management of a medium size team.

Previous experience holding management meetings and employee reviews.

*

Previous experience planning PPM schedules and use of CMMS.

*

(Desirable) Member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management or equivalent.
