About the Role

Supply Desk is seeking an experienced Marine Engineering / Engineering Lecturer to provide temporary cover at a well-established college campus in the New Forest.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional or lecturer to deliver both classroom and practical workshop-based teaching to students studying Marine Technology and Level 2 Engineering programmes.

The role is expected to continue until around November/December 2026, although the duration may be shorter or extended depending on requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Level 2 Engineering and Marine Technology sessions.

Teach across both classroom and practical workshop environments.

Support students working towards their engineering qualifications.

Prepare learners for practical assessments.

Adapt schemes of work to meet learner and curriculum requirements.

Develop engaging learning resources and activities.

Assess and monitor student progress.

Complete planning, preparation, assessment and marking associated with the role.

Maintain a safe, professional and engaging workshop environment.

Candidate Requirements

Experience delivering Level 2 Engineering qualifications.

Experience of the Performing Engineering Operations (PEO/NVQ) qualification would be highly desirable.

Strong practical workshop and classroom teaching experience.

Confident managing and supporting classes of approximately 20 students.

Good understanding of Marine Engineering / Marine Technology.

Ability to adapt schemes of work and create appropriate learning resources.

Experience preparing students for practical assessments.

Familiarity with CANVAS or MOODLE would be advantageous.

Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills.

DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
