Description:

Our client, an innovative business within the marine equipment design and manufacturing sector, is seeking a Lead Design & Integration Engineer to support the development, industrialisation and deployment of advanced maritime technology. This permanent senior engineering role will bridge marine electronics design, electronics integration, manufacturing, operations and product delivery.
The successful applicant will help take intelligent maritime sensing, surveillance and data solutions from prototype and development through to reliable, scalable production and operational use across global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the transition of marine technology products from development and validation into production.
Ensure designs are mature, manufacturable, reliable, supportable and ready for deployment at scale.
Champion Design for Manufacture, Design for Assembly and Design for Reliability principles.
Act as the key interface between engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain and product delivery teams.
Lead production readiness reviews, product release activities and first-production build support.
Ensure technical documentation, bills of materials and production data are complete, accurate and controlled.
Drive configuration management, engineering change control, process development, tooling and test validation.
Lead multidisciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, systems, software and marine electronics engineering.

Job Requirements:

Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
Significant experience leading complex electro-mechanical or technology-based product development programmes.
Proven experience transitioning products from prototype or demonstration stages into full-scale production.
Strong knowledge of marine electronics, electronics integration and maritime equipment development.
Experience working across engineering, manufacturing, operations and supply chain functions.
Understanding of systems engineering, product lifecycle management, design governance and change control.
Knowledge of quality systems, continuous improvement and manufacturing readiness processes.
Commercial awareness, strong decision-making skills and the ability to balance performance, cost and delivery objectives.

Desirable Experience:

Experience developing maritime, communications, sensing, robotics, autonomous systems or advanced technology products.
Exposure to optical, sensor or data-centric technologies.
Experience supporting product certification or compliance activities.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles.
