Our client, a leading aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisation, is seeking an Engineering Fitter to join its engineering team at its Cumbernauld base. This permanent role supports aircraft line and base maintenance activities, with occasional work at other operating or temporary bases, including overnight stays where required.

Key Responsibilities:

Support line and base aircraft maintenance activities at Cumbernauld and other approved locations
Assist Certifying Engineers with aircraft maintenance tasks in accordance with approved data, current regulations and industry best practice
Complete assigned engineering tasks safely, efficiently and in line with company policies, procedures and authorisations
Identify, document and accurately record aircraft defects following debriefs with operational crew members
Maintain the correct use, care and condition of tooling and support equipment
Carry out aircraft handling, refuelling, role changes and cleaning activities in support of operational requirements
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
Provide general engineering and operational support to the Engineering Department and wider business

Job Requirements:

Experience in aircraft maintenance, aerospace engineering or a related aviation environment
Practical engineering fitting skills and an understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures
Knowledge of approved maintenance data, aviation regulations and safe working practices
Ability to identify and accurately report aircraft defects and maintenance requirements
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and compliance
Ability to use, maintain and care for engineering tools and support equipment
Willingness to work a 28-day rotating shift pattern, including occasional additional hours and travel to other bases
Ability to work effectively with Certifying Engineers, operational crew and wider engineering teams

Working Pattern:

The role operates on a 28-day rotating shift pattern comprising 10-hour shifts across a cycle of six days on and four days off, followed by four days on and six days off. This provides an average working week of 35 hours across the cycle. Additional hours may be required to meet operational needs and may be managed through time off in lieu or overtime arrangements.
