Engineering Estimator

Description:

Engineerng estimator required for expanding, Torfaen based engineering company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for engineering projects, ensuring competitive, profitable bids. This role involves analysing technical drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determione material, labour, and time costs. The estimator will work closely with engineering, procurement, and project managementy teams to supports project delivery from tender through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for projects.
* Assess material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
* Conduct risk analysis and identify potential cost-saving opportunitites.
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and pricing.
* Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop accurate scopes of work.
* Maintain up to date cost databases and historic records.
* Support bid meetings, presentations, and negotiations with clients.
* Monitor project costs and provide updates during project life cycle where required.
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry standards and client requirements.
Skills and Qualififcations
* Proven experience in estimating with engineering, machining, fabrication related projects.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Proficiency in estimating softare and Microsoft Excel etc.
* Expereince with CAD software.
