Engineering Compliance Manager

Location: Poole, Dorset
Salary: Competitive + Benefits

An established food manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Compliance Manager to join its engineering leadership team at a busy production site in Poole.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance-focused engineering professional to take ownership of statutory engineering compliance, contractor management and engineering governance within a fast-paced FMCG environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the site remains fully compliant while supporting engineering reliability, operational performance and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Engineering Compliance Manager will oversee all statutory engineering compliance activities, ensuring inspections, audits and regulatory requirements are completed accurately and on time. Working closely with both Engineering and Operations, they will manage compliance systems, coordinate contractor activities and drive improvements to engineering processes that support a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

The role will also provide leadership to the Contractor Supervisor and Stores Coordinator, ensuring contractors work safely and effectively while engineering stores are well managed to maximise equipment uptime. Using engineering data and compliance metrics, the successful candidate will identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce risk and strengthen overall site compliance.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will have experience within an FMCG, manufacturing or other highly regulated industrial environment and will possess a recognised engineering qualification. They will have a strong understanding of engineering compliance, contractor management and statutory regulations including PSSR, LOLER and LEV, together with experience using CMMS or compliance management systems.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. The successful candidate will be confident communicating with stakeholders across the business, reviewing technical documentation such as RAMS, issuing permits to work and driving a proactive culture of safety and compliance. A NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely qualification would be advantageous.

What's on Offer

* Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

* Opportunity to join a well-established food manufacturing business.

* Long-term career development opportunities.

* A collaborative working environment focused on engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
