Description:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Engineering Assessor – Electrical Engineering to support and assess apprentices and learners undertaking Electrical Engineering qualifications and apprenticeship standards. The successful candidate will work closely with employers and learners to ensure high-quality assessment, progression, and achievement across engineering programmes.
The role requires a strong technical background in Electrical Engineering, experience of assessing apprentices in the workplace, and a passion for developing future engineering talent.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and support a caseload of Electrical Engineering apprentices and learners.
* Carry out workplace and remote assessments in line with apprenticeship standards and qualification requirements.
* Conduct learner progress reviews and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with employers and stakeholders.
* Ensure learners are progressing towards timely completion of their qualifications.
* Maintain accurate assessment records and learner documentation in line with awarding body and funding requirements.
* Prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA) where applicable.
* Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, and health and safety best practice at all times.
Essential Criteria
Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA or equivalent).
Experience assessing apprentices or learners within Electrical Engineering.
Strong industry background and occupational competence in Electrical Engineering.
Excellent knowledge of Electrical Engineering practices, systems, and industry standards.
Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards and assessment requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate, support, and develop learners.
Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications and learner management systems.
