Multi-Skilled Engineer

A fast-paced and growing food manufacturing business is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Multi-Skilled Engineer to join its engineering team.

This role operates on a Pitman, 12 hour day shift basis and offers a competitive remuneration package, including a range of employee benefits and opportunities for career development.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide engineering support to production operations, ensuring equipment reliability and responding effectively to breakdowns and technical issues. The role is focused on maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance activities.

*

Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and system faults, ensuring safety is always the highest priority.

*

Diagnose faults, service, maintain, and repair production equipment, machinery, and systems.

*

Monitor and oversee external contractors carrying out maintenance and repair work.

*

Complete accurate end-of-shift, time usage, and defect reports.

*

Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency.

*

Maintain compliance with all health and safety, hygiene, quality, and company procedures.

*

Support continuous improvement initiatives through practical problem-solving and process enhancements.

About You

We're looking for someone who is:

*

Multi-skilled with both mechanical and electrical engineering experience.

*

Qualified to a minimum of SVQ/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.

*

A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

*

Positive, proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn.

*

Able to influence others and work collaboratively within a team environment.

Desirable Experience

*

Fault-finding and diagnostic experience.

*

Previous experience within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or manufacturing environment.
