Engine Build & Rig Technician

Peterborough – fully on site PE1

Initially 12 months – very long term extensions are highly likely

Monday – Thursday: 07:00 – 15:30 and Friday: 07:00 – 12:00 (Flexible start times maybe available)

£22.05ph PAYE + holiday + pension or £29.95 umbrella rate

Are you a skilled Engine Technician, Mechanical Fitter, Vehicle Technician or Assembly Technician looking for an opportunity to work on cutting-edge engine development projects?

We are seeking an Engine Build & Rig Technician to join a Global Engine Development team in Peterborough. Supporting high-profile customer programmes and exciting new product development projects, you'll play a key role in preparing, building and supporting engines through the development test cycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out engine build, strip and rebuild activities.

* Support engine installation, rigging and de-rigging activities within test facilities.

* Prepare engines and systems for testing and development programmes.

* Diagnose mechanical faults and support root cause investigations.

* Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure engines meet build standards.

* Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

* Complete build records and associated documentation accurately.

What We're Looking For

* NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Motor Vehicle Engineering or equivalent.

* Time-served apprenticeship, military engineering qualification or similar transferable experience.

* Minimum 3 years' experience in an engine build, engine assembly or mechanical engineering environment.

* Experience stripping, building and preparing engines.

* Good fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
