Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Engagement and Pastoral Co-Ordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for fostering a supportive atmosphere that encourages student engagement, emotional well-being, and academic success. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to develop and implement strategies that address individual needs and promote positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engagement strategies to encourage student participation and attendance.
Provide pastoral support to students, addressing their social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Collaborate with teaching staff to create individualized support plans for students.
Act as a liaison between the school, families, and external agencies to coordinate support services.
Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting support plans as necessary.
Organize and lead activities that promote social skills, self-esteem, and resilience.
Support students in developing positive relationships with peers and staff.
Assist in managing and resolving conflicts and behavioral issues in a constructive manner.
Maintain accurate records of student interactions and interventions.
Qualifications:
Proven experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral capacity.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students in alternative provisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
Desirable:
Experience in behavior management and conflict resolution.
Training in mental health first aid or similar support qualifications.
Familiarity with local support services and agencies.
