Mencap are recruiting for a Learning Disability Caseworker (LDC) with experience of delivering energy and money advice from a variety of locations. The role will be based at home with travel to community venues and occasional travel to our Peterborough office. This role is fixed term until March 2026, working full time (37.5 hours a week).
 
Mencap is committed to providing good quality advice to people with a learning disability, their families and carers, and professionals working with them. The LDC must be able to give advice and support using clear and accessible methods.
 
The successful Energy & Money Caseworker will have experience of working in an advice service, giving energy and money advice via the telephone or in face to face venues.
 
Ideally you will have experience and knowledge of working with a CRM system, be competent in using all Microsoft Office packages and can demonstrate I.T skills and experience which are required for this role.
 
Key skills for the Money & Advice Caseworker are:
Level 3 NVQ qualification in giving advice or an equivalent relevant qualification.
Strong communicator with analytical skills.
Well developed listening and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of social care issues and of learning disability.
Knowledge of Energy and Money advice and support.
The ability to communicate clearly in another language is desirable but not essential.
