Job Title: Energy Manager

Location: Scotland

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE

A trusted partner of ours is currently recruiting for an Energy Manager to cover the remits of Scotland. The candidate will be ideally technically sound with commercial experience. Our client is a global leader in commercial real estate and investments. They provide services, insights and data that spans across all corners of the industry, creating solutions for clients of all magnitudes!

The role of the Energy Manager is to develop and implement energy efficiencies with the client, create the overall strategy for energy requirements, meet the strategic intent of the organisation and represent the Energy Department in all areas of the business.

Responsibilities

Maintain a thorough understanding of corporate energy strategy, legal, statutory and technical issues which affect both the client and the company.
Promote energy efficiency and provide advice and support for the development of energy efficient practices.

Prioritisation of work based on analysis of strategic importance, tasks outstanding, obstacles or barriers, budgets, resources and deadlines.

Develop and implement with client, the overall strategy for energy requirements, to meet the strategic intent of the organisation and represent the Energy Department in all areas of the business. Liaise specifically with the Acting Energy Manager and Regional FM Managers.
Develop and manage the corporate energy policy and strategy in conjunction with all parties to achieve energy reduction targets through cost effective and efficient implementation.
Develop and advise on energy strategy/solutions/technology/pricing, developing these into working projects, which meet client objectives and best practice.
Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Be responsible and proactive in compliance issues, such as CRC.
Liaise with BMS maintenance contractors, ensuring that they implement the putting the E back into BMS strategy changes on all sites.
Promote policy and achievements to emphasise how they contribute to its success.
Undertake energy surveys in clients premises.
Undertake Air Conditioning Inspections in clients premises.
Develop and implement strategic briefs for design guides /standards to meet the client objectives and brief client departments accordingly.
Provide full feasibility studies of costed initiatives / projects to reduce energy usage.
Project management and implementation of initiatives, managing changes to project scope and/or objectives to the client and to the project team.
Manage through client change orders, internal change orders, phased delivery or other methods to ensure projects deliver on time line, scope, budget and strategy expectations.
Understands basic revenue models, p&l and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
Ensure they meet internal and client expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery time lines, and strategy
Work with external contractors in addition to internal resources.
Provide monitoring and verification through the full cycle of the project to achieve cost and energy efficient solutions, utilising the client's energy bureau.
Implement and maintain processes and procedures to achieve economic cost in use.
Oversee and report on the meter reading of all utility meters.
Update and revise monthly energy reports or other reports as directed for both internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain a current level of utility market intelligence.
Plan, monitor and achieve consumption / emission targets
Understand Utility supply trading arrangements.
Analyse Utility profiles and benchmark against known data.
Any other activity as directed by line management.Liaise with The Energy Bureau to ensure energy management reports are issued to the Clients specification.

Experience

Experience in energy management
Qualified Health and Safety certification (NEBOSH Construction or equivalent)
Qualified Low Carbon Consultant
Qualified to undertake Air Conditioning Inspections
An appropriate energy related qualification or equivalent in building services engineering. (to Degree level or higher)
Extensive knowledge of the principle techniques and technologies which support the efficient use of energy
Competency in current benchmark techniques and statistical analysis
Working knowledge of M&T software.
Project management experience preferably in M&E
Understand the principles behind HVAC, refrigeration and Lighting operation and system design / integration
Extensive working knowledge of BMS and control theory.
Ability to carry out full energy surveys and feasibility studies of energy technologies with associated paybacks.
