Employment Litigation Solicitor
Paying up to £45k
Based in Manchester City Centre
5 days onsite
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Solicitor with employment litigation experience to join a busy and well-established legal team in Manchester.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their own caseload, working directly with clients and getting involved in the full life cycle of Employment Tribunal matters. You'll be joining a supportive, fast-paced environment where quality of advice and client service are just as important as legal knowledge.
The role
You'll manage a varied caseload of employment disputes, advising clients from the initial receipt of a Tribunal claim through to settlement or hearing. This will include:
Reviewing and responding to Employment Tribunal claims and preparing appropriate pleadings and applications.
Advising clients on the merits, risks and likely outcomes of their cases.
Managing disclosure, preparing hearing bundles and dealing with Tribunal correspondence.
Handling settlement and conciliation negotiations in line with client instructions.
Identifying and working with witnesses, including preparing and finalising witness statements.
Conducting preliminary advocacy at Employment Tribunal hearings, including remotely and occasionally in person.
Building strong relationships with clients and providing clear, commercially focused advice throughout.
Working closely with colleagues and supporting more junior members of the team where required.
About you
We're looking for a qualified solicitor with recent employment litigation experience who is confident managing cases and comfortable dealing directly with clients.
Experienced in Employment Tribunal litigation and dispute resolution.
Confident drafting legal documents and providing clear, practical advice.
Comfortable taking responsibility for your own caseload.
A strong communicator who can build credibility and trust with clients.
Commercially minded, with a genuine focus on achieving the best outcome for the client.
Organised and able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
Someone who enjoys working as part of a team but is equally comfortable taking ownership and making decisions.
