Build Employer Relationships and Connect Businesses with Skills Training

Are you an employer engagement professional with experience in apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps or vocational training? Can you build trusted relationships with employers, understand their recruitment needs and create opportunities for learners to gain qualifications and enter employment?

A well-established training provider is seeking an Employer Engagement Manager to strengthen its employer network across London. You will work closely with businesses, particularly SMEs, to identify skills needs, promote relevant training provision and generate apprenticeship and Skills Bootcamp opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the training provider environment and can combine relationship management with a proactive approach to employer acquisition.

About the Organisation

The organisation provides apprenticeships, vocational training and skills development programmes that support learners and help employers address workforce development needs.

Working with employers and local partners, it aims to connect training provision with real employment opportunities, supporting learner recruitment, skills development and progression.

About the Role

You will develop and manage employer relationships across London, helping businesses understand available training options and identifying opportunities to recruit apprentices and Skills Bootcamp learners.

You will also support employer engagement for a roofing upskilling project and work with external partners to increase participation in relevant training programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Build and maintain relationships with employers, particularly SMEs, subcontractors and supply-chain businesses.

*

Identify employer recruitment needs, skills gaps and opportunities for training provision.

*

Promote apprenticeships, Skills Bootcamps, NVQs and commercial training programmes.

*

Generate employer referrals and support learner recruitment through to enrolment.

*

Engage roofing employers as part of a sector-specific upskilling project.

*

Explain relevant funding arrangements, eligibility criteria and employer commitments.

*

Work collaboratively with training, recruitment and delivery teams to support programme starts.

*

Develop relationships with local authorities, Jobcentre Plus and relevant sector organisations.

*

Attend employer visits, networking meetings, careers events and industry events.

*

Maintain CRM records and monitor employer engagement activity and pipeline performance.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have experience in employer engagement, employer partnerships or account management within education, apprenticeships or skills training. You will be confident working with employers and identifying practical ways to connect their workforce needs with training opportunities.

Essential Experience and Skills:

*

Previous experience within a training provider, college, apprenticeship provider or Skills Bootcamp environment.

*

Experience building employer relationships and developing new engagement opportunities.

*

An understanding of apprenticeships, funded training or vocational skills programmes.

*

Strong communication and relationship-management skills.

*

Ability to identify employer needs and explain suitable training options.

*

Experience managing targets, maintaining a pipeline and recording activity on a CRM system.

*

Confidence using Microsoft Office and producing regular activity reports.

*

London-based, with flexibility to travel for employer meetings.

Experience in construction, roofing or scaffolding would be beneficial, but candidates from other relevant training sectors are encouraged to apply.

Why Apply?

*

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum.

*

Vehicle Benefit: Company vehicle or vehicle allowance, subject to confirmation.

*

Overtime: Additional earning opportunities.

*

Flexible Working: Hybrid arrangement combining home working and employer visits.

*

Annual Leave: 22 days, increasing with length of service.

*

Benefits Package: Company pension scheme, eyecare vouchers, free parking and company events.

*

Meaningful Work: Help employers address skills gaps while creating training and employment opportunities for learners.
