Employability Officer

Location: West Yorkshire (Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees & Calderdale)

Salary: £30,000 – £32,000

Contract: Full-Time Permanent

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about helping people build the confidence, skills and readiness they need to move closer to employment?

We are looking for an Employability Officer to support participants at the pre-work stage, helping them overcome barriers, develop employability skills and prepare for their next step towards sustainable employment.

This is an opportunity for an experienced employability professional who enjoys working directly with participants and supporting their progression.

About the Organisation

Our client operates within the employability and skills sector, supporting individuals across West Yorkshire to develop the skills, confidence and capabilities needed to progress towards employment.

The organisation works across Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale, supporting participants within local communities.

The Role

*

Support participants at the pre-work stage, helping them prepare for progression into employment.

*

Identify individual needs, barriers and areas for development through effective engagement and support.

*

Provide practical employability advice, guidance and support tailored to individual circumstances.

*

Help participants develop confidence, motivation and workplace-readiness.

*

Support individuals to develop their employability skills and understanding of the workplace.

*

Work with participants to identify realistic progression and employment goals.

*

Maintain accurate records of participant activity, progress and support provided.

*

Build positive relationships with participants and work collaboratively with colleagues to support successful outcomes.

The Ideal Candidate

*

Experience working in employability, employment support, skills, welfare-to-work or a related environment.

*

Experience supporting individuals who may face barriers to employment.

*

Strong understanding of employability skills and the journey towards sustainable employment.

*

Confident providing advice, guidance, coaching or mentoring to participants.

*

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

*

Able to motivate and engage individuals with different needs and circumstances.

*

Well organised, proactive and able to manage a varied caseload or workload.

*

Committed to helping individuals achieve positive progression outcomes.
