What we do

Connolly and Callaghan Ltd are providers of Emergency Accommodation ensuring a comfortable place to stay for over 1000 people every night in the Bristol and West of England area.

Our Emergency Accommodation service works with statutory agencies across the South West to place homeless families and individuals on a temporary and emergency basis.

Duties will include but are not limited to :-

Complete admissions process for new residents in conjunction with Allocations team ensuring the house and health and safety rules fully explained to the residents and the relevant paperwork is signed.

Ensure that the room is set up to company standards and the residents are provided an initial allocation of everything they need

Communicating daily to afternoon / night staff any changes via communications book including any complaints/discharges or new bookings.

Daily property checks, updating property log to show any discharges/admissions

Inspect properties to ensure they are clean and in good working order, reporting any defects immediately to the maintenance department via email and noting in the communications book.

Ensure the properties are up to company standard. Report/escalate any maintenance issues as necessary

Carry out regular tests and checks according to the fire log

Prevent issues arising by upholding the house rules

issue verbal or written warnings, if necessary.

Maintain a professional rapour at all times with residents

Interact daily with residents answering questions, updating them on changes and dealing with complaints.

Work with the resident to ensure they settle in well and understand the house rules/ induction

It is vitally important that any safeguarding concerns regarding residents are highlighted and passed onto the relevant agency. Report only.

Try to ensure residents are happy and secure by helping to deal with problems as they arise. Assisting in conflict resolution.

Ensuring all incidents, reported breaches and accidents are brought to the attention of the Allocations team and your line manager.

Ensuring Cleaners carry out their duties in line with their Job description.

Advise Cleaners of empty properties which need to be made ready for new residents

Assist Cleaners when necessary

Prepare and present verbal/written reports when required.

Routine stock checks and submit stock allocation list on a weekly basis.

Ensure Meter readings are taken and submitted to Accounts on a timely basis

Inform bookings when a resident makes you aware that they're could be leaving (this helps us prepare for the turnaround)

Assist with the packing of residents belongings if required.

Any other duties that may be reasonably requested by a Senior member of staff.

Adhering to the relevant legislation, good practice policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Confidentiality, Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding at all times.

- Confidentiality - to ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity.

- Data Protection Act – to comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

- Health & Safety - to ensure you comply at all times with C&C Health & Safety Policy. You are responsible for taking reasonable care with regard to yourself as well as any colleague, client or visitor who might be affected by an act or failure to act by yourself.

It is essential that you have a full drivers licence in order to fulfil this role.
