Description:
Role: Embedded firmware engineer
Location, Strathclyde, Scotland
Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 dependant on level
Education:
Minimum 2 years experience.
Ideally degree level, or adequate experience to carry out design work.
Skills required:
System design of real time systems, data processing and storage.
Embedded device programming.
Use of PIC microcontrollers, simpler microprocessors, FPGA (optional).
Program languages of assembly, C, C++ (and C# optional).
Communication protocols and interfaces, such as:
Ethernet TCPIP
SPI
I2C
Modbus
System to system interfaces
Real time data collection and processing.
Simple database storage.
Low level file systems.
Data processing and manipulation.
Basic windows programming to verify embedded devices can speak to windows based systems (eg visual studio).
Benefits are:
Flexibility in start stop times, 37.5 hours a week, but core 10am until 4pm require per day.
Pension scheme of 3% of employee is matched with 5% from company.
30 days holiday per year, increased by 1 day per year worked after 3 years, to a maximum of 35 days.
