Description:

Electronics Engineer (Production)
Cambridge | Hybrid
Up to £60k + benefits

Do you enjoy getting stuck into the detail of a design, from RF and high-speed circuits through to getting it working reliably on the production line?
Do you want your electronics work to support radar and sensor systems that are actually protecting people?

We're working with an established UK radar and sensor technology business, developing electronic-scanning radar systems for surveillance applications, as they look to appoint a Electronics Engineer to join their growing Production team.

This is a broad, hands-on role rather than a narrow specialism. You'll support radar proving, qualification testing and fault finding, design RF and high-speed analogue/digital circuits, and drive improvements to existing products. You'll sit right at the interface between Engineering and Production - managing obsolescence, designing test equipment and jigs, producing manufacturing documentation, and using PLM software to maintain build standards and resolve issues as they come up. There's also scope to support suppliers, sales and engineering colleagues, and to help improve in-house production processes.

What You'll Bring:

A degree in electronics or a closely related discipline
Solid design experience with RF and high-speed analogue circuits, and confidence working across digital design too
Experience designing production test equipment, jigs and automated test techniques
Comfortable working across the full product lifecycle, from design support through to manufacturing and obsolescence management
Strong technical documentation skills, including manufacturing and production documentation
A full driving licence, with the flexibility to travel to suppliers when neededAlso Valued:

Experience interfacing analogue to digital systems
Experience with radar or other complex sensor systems
Knowledge of PLM systems and maintaining product build standards
Experience using Altium and Jira
Eligibility for security clearance, given the nature of the products
This would suit a dynamic, self-starting engineer who's comfortable getting into the detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture. You'll need to be a strong communicator, manage your own time across multiple projects, with close attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
