Do you get a buzz from solving complex and diverse engineering problems?
Want your work to end up in medical devices that make a real difference to patients?

We’re looking for an Electronics Engineer to join a specialist product development consultancy in Cambridgeshire, working on medical and healthcare technology for clients from early-stage start-ups through to global names.

This is a hands-on role, designing hardware for medium and high-volume manufacture. You’ll own electronic designs at both system and circuit level, taking them from first concept through prototyping, debug and verification, and into production. You’ll work in well-equipped labs and workshops, alongside engineers from other disciplines where peer review is part of the culture, and you’ll see how each project makes different demands on the design. With a different client and a new technical challenge every few months, you’ll never be doing the same thing twice.

What You’ll Bring

Commercial experience (around 2-5 years) designing electronic hardware that has gone beyond the bench
A good degree in electronics, electrical engineering, physics or a similar discipline
Confidence with a professional electronics CAD package (Altium preferred)
Practical, hands-on skills in building, modifying and troubleshooting prototypes, with ease using standard lab test equipment
A broad awareness of what’s current in electronics technology and manufacturing methods
A methodical approach to problem-solving, backed by clear, well-organised design documentation
Strong communication skills, comfortable explaining technical points to engineers and non-engineers alike
Willingness to travel occasionally to client and supplier sites, in the UK and abroadAlso Valued

Exposure to adjacent areas such as optics, embedded software or signal processing
FPGA / programmable logic development
Python for scripting and test automation
Experience in a regulated environment, particularly medical device quality and safety standards
A background in a consultancy or multi-client environmentIf you want varied, technically demanding work, a team that shares knowledge freely, and designs that make a real difference, this could be the role for you.
