You don't necessarily need years of experience to build a career in this industry. We're working with a well-established specialist manufacturer in the Colchester area who are looking for an Electronics Assembler to join their Relay Build Team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is practical, hands-on and keen to learn, with full training provided and genuine opportunities to develop your skills.

We've met someone currently working in the team who joined around five years ago from a completely different industry. They had some practical welding experience, was given the opportunity to learn, and has since built a career in electronics, and is still loving the job today.

The role

As an Electronics Assembler, you'll be responsible for assembling specialist electrical and mechanical components to detailed instructions and quality standards.

You'll receive full training on the products and processes, with your responsibilities developing as you gain experience.

You'll be involved in:

Assembly of small electrical and mechanical components or small components
Building specialist relay products
Using hand tools and small assembly equipment
Following drawings and work instructions
Soldering and fine assembly work following training
Visual and quality checks
Working accurately to production requirements

What we're looking for

Previous experience isn't essential. We're more interested in your practical ability, attention to detail and willingness to learn.

You may have experience in engineering, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, welding or a similar hands-on environment, or simply be someone who enjoys practical work and wants to learn a new skill.

You'll need to be:

Practical and hands-on
Reliable and keen to learn
Comfortable using hand tools
Able to follow instructions accurately
Quality-focused with good attention to detail
