Test Engineer (Electrical Testing & Quality Assurance)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and conscientious Test Engineer to join our team. This position has arisen due to a planned retirement, and we are looking for someone to join us before the end of the year to allow for a comprehensive handover and knowledge transfer.
This is a varied role that combines electrical testing, quality assurance, and inspection activities within a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of our products before they reach our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical testing and inspection of electrical control panels
Carrying out live testing activities safely and accurately
Testing of motors and cable assemblies, including large batch testing
Identifying and resolving faults and non-conformances
Ensuring products meet company and customer quality standards
Maintaining accurate test records and documentation
Assisting with quality assurance and continuous improvement activities
Conducting mechanical inspections where required
Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teamsAbout You
We are looking for a practical and detail-oriented individual with a strong electrical engineering background.
Essential
Experience in electrical testing and inspection
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Good understanding of electrical safety procedures
High attention to detail and quality standards
Excellent communication and organisational skillsDesirable
Experience testing control panels
Inspection and quality assurance experience within a manufacturing environment
Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC/HND or equivalent)
