Electrical Mate / Improver – New Build Hospital Project
Location: Shrewsbury
Rate: £20.00 per hour
Hours: 45 Hours per Week
* Monday to Thursday: 10-hour days
* Friday: Half day
Duration: 6+ Months
Start Date: Immediate (17/08/2026)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Mate / Improver to join a major new build hospital project in Shrewsbury.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work on a prestigious healthcare development, working alongside an established electrical contractor on a high-profile project.
Scope of Works
The successful candidate will be assisting Electricians with a wide range of commercial electrical installation works, including:
* Installing ladder rack, tray, trunking and galvanised conduit.
* Assisting with electrical containment systems.
* Supporting single-phase electrical installations.
* Pulling, routing and dressing cables.
* Assisting with first and second fix electrical works.
* Working from drawings and site specifications.
* Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area.
* Adhering to site Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* ECS Card (or valid CSCS Card where appropriate).
* IPAF Licence.
* Previous experience on commercial construction projects.
* Own hand tools and full PPE.
* Good attitude, reliability and willingness to work as part of a team.
