£40,000 – £45,000 per annum (DOE)

Are you an experienced Electrician with strong Inspection & Testing experience looking for a permanent opportunity in Plymouth?

Our client is looking for a skilled Electrical Testing & Inspection Engineer to join their team, with a particular focus on temporary electrical installations on commercial and construction sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys a hands-on role and is confident carrying out inspection, testing, fault finding and certification of temporary site electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
Inspecting and testing temporary electrical installations across commercial and construction sites.

Carrying out electrical inspection and testing in accordance with current regulations and industry standards.

Testing temporary distribution boards, supplies, circuits, sockets, lighting and associated equipment.

Carrying out continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, RCD and other relevant electrical tests.

Identifying faults, defects and potential safety issues and arranging or carrying out remedial works.

Completing inspection and testing records and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.

Working closely with site management and other trades to ensure temporary electrical systems remain safe and operational.

Carrying out routine inspections and maintenance of temporary electrical installations.

Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Requirements
Fully qualified Electrician with relevant electrical installation qualifications.

Strong experience in Inspection & Testing.

Experience working with temporary electrical installations on construction/commercial sites is highly desirable.

Good working knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards.

Able to read electrical drawings and schematics.

Confident using electrical testing equipment and completing test documentation.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Reliable, organised and able to work independently.

Relevant 18th Edition and Inspection & Testing qualifications are essential

ECS/CSCS electrical card essential

Full UK driving licence preferred.
