Are you a qualified Electrician looking to take the next step in your career within a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We are recruiting for an ambitious, forward-thinking and motivated individual to join our client, a well-established engineering team at a leading manufacturing facility in Dumfries. Full training will be provided for domestic electricians looking to move into an industrial setting.

This role would suit an experienced industrial electrician or a domestic electrician looking to develop their skills within a manufacturing environment. Candidates should be motivated, technically minded, safety-focused and keen to build a long-term career within engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out electrical maintenance activities including reactive, planned and improvement work
Maintain plant equipment and process machinery, including PLCs and electrical drive systems
Complete installation work including 3-phase, single-phase and containment systems
Assist with network cabling installations
Support engineering projects and site improvement initiatives
Carry out portable appliance testing (PAT)
Assist with apprentice training and mentoring
Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, environmental and legislative standards
Communicate effectively with colleagues across the business

Essential Requirements

Qualified Electrician
City & Guilds or SVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification
Experience working in a similar industrial role following qualification
Basic understanding of ventilation, pneumatic, hydraulic and steam service systems
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of electrical control and drive systems
Ability to read and update electrical schematics and control documentation
Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams

Desirable Skills & Experience

18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experience with PLCs, programming and fault diagnosis
Experience working with industrial robotics
Knowledge of machine safety systems and interlocking functions
Familiarity with Beckhoff PLC systems
