Electrical/Mechanical Assembly Technician **

Manchester/Greater Manchester

3-month contract initially

Rate: £22.00-£25.00p/h DOE Limited or Umbrella (Outside IR35)

I am working with a key client in West Yorkshire who are looking for an experienced Electrical/Mechanical assembly technician with bespoke engineering build experience, to work on capital automated equipment. You will be responsible for complex assembly build and testing, ready for site installation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics to tight tolerances in some instances and use hand tools
Electrical - building of machinery and overhaul from an electrical perspective
Power up – deal with any issues – fault find
Set up inverter drives – program auxiliary equipment, go online to see what’s going on
Run cables, terminate, Read schematics etc.
Working on and installing an array of equipment such as gearboxes, bearings, drives and motors etc.
Liaise with other teams and key stakeholders
Strong bespoke technical understanding to ensure mechanical and electrical specifications are met
Report any snagging issues or problems to Assembly Supervisor
The successful candidate:

NVQL3/apprentice trained/time served in mechanical/electrical engineering
Electrical/Mechanical fitter/Installations experience
Automated special purpose machinery build experience
Ability to read complex engineering drawings / schematics etc
Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality
