Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes are recruiting for an Electrical Technician for our client in the Wiltshire area. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading European business.
The Company:
Our client is a well-established UK subsidiary of a leading European engineering group specialising in the design and manufacture of high-quality process equipment for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects. Operating in the UK for over 30 years, the business delivers solutions ranging from individual equipment supply through to medium-scale turnkey installations. The company is known for its strong engineering expertise, innovation and high-quality stainless-steel manufacturing.
The Role:
You will be responsible for building various types of control panels, designed by the in house team. Responsibilities include:
* Build and wire electrical control panels for automated machinery, ensuring high-quality and accurate workmanship.
* Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and bills of materials.
* Install and connect PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, safety relays, I/O modules, and other control components.
* Prepare, terminate, and connect wiring using the correct tools and techniques.
* Ensure all work meets relevant electrical wiring standards and project requirements.
* Collaborate with design engineers, test teams, and team leaders to deliver accurate panel builds.
* Identify drawing discrepancies, record wiring changes, and provide feedback to improve future designs.
The Candidate:
* Experience wiring electrical control panels using schematics and layout drawings.
* Confident reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, terminal schedules, and GA drawings.
* Strong wiring and cable management skills, including the use of crimped terminals, ferrules, and trunking.
* Knowledge of common electrical components, including relays, contactors, PLCs, MCBs, power supplies, and terminal blocks.
* Competent in using panel-building tools such as wire cutters, crimpers, screwdrivers, and drills.
* High attention to detail, with a focus on accurate labelling, terminations, and panel layouts.
* A team player who can follow instructions, ask questions when needed, and communicate effectively with engineers and supervisors.
