Role of the Site & Business Area:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join the TMS team. The  production facilities are registered COMAH high hazard installations, housing multiple plant units, including Olefins 6, Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Logistics North and Logistics South.

Purpose of the Job:
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for executing preventative, scheduled, and breakdown maintenance, for run and maintain activities on all their clients assets.

The jobholder will also operate as a High Voltage Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for 3.3kV and 11kV High Voltage systems and associated equipment, although this is secondary to the primary role of daily maintenance. This role requires a deep understanding of fault levels, protection systems and equipment limitations, ensuring the highest level of safety compliance. You will play a crucial role in maintaining electrical plant equipment and safe reliable electricity supply for the business. You will be appointed, or work towards an HV Grade 2 Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for the Site, responsible for HV switchgear operation, issuing and cancelling HV safety documents and ensuring safe work practices, with investment in your training where required.

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

Work Execution: Provide Electrical technical hands-on maintenance within a multi-skilled team during daily operations, in addition to planned and unplanned shutdowns. For HV duties, ensuring safety documents are issued and work is conducted in compliance with HV safety rules.

Skills and Knowledge:

Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (NVQ level 3 or similar).
Knowledge of High Voltage distribution systems and at least 3 years of practical switching experience (Grade 3 or 4).
Knowledge and understanding of High Voltage operating rules.
Experience in the Petro-chemical industry, maintenance, and specialised equipment handling.
Proficient in safety and engineering standards with the ability to influence procedures.
Competency in computerised maintenance systems, diagnostic equipment

Qualifications & Experience:

Time-served with relevant Petrochemical industry experience.
Experience in fault finding on various equipment and working with Industrial electrical equipment, removal, re-instatement and installation of new equipment.
CompEx certification and HV Switching authorised status (HV Grade 2, or HV Grade 4 and a desire to achieve G2).
Concern for operational safety, health, and environmental standards.
Trade-related HNC/HND qualification (advantageous).

Additional Information:

The HV Senior Authorised Person role is a small proportion of the overall Electrical Technicians activities and requires a blend of technical skills, site experience, and knowledge.
The site requires you have a valid Safety Passport or IOSH (safety passport can be arranged during onboarding)
