Description:
My client, a market leading Oil & Gas company who operates a major gas storage facility in Hampshire. They have an exciting opporunity on a staff basis for an Electrical Technician with experience in repair & maintenance of Electrical equipment. This role offers the chance to work on cutting edge projects & there will be great training opporutinties & chances of progression.
Hours: Monday – Friday 7.30am-4.30pm. Call outs are paid at 5 hours base rate plus minimum of 5 hours at x 1.5 base rate (Monday to Friday) or x 2.0 base rate for weekends and Bank Holidays.
The role:
* Identifying, scheduling, carrying out and the recording of planned and corrective maintenance checks and repairs
* Carrying out the routine servicing of various types of electrical, electronic, and electrical control equipment such as distribution panels, motors, controllers, starters etc.
* Inspection, maintenance, and replacement of ATEX equipment in hazardous areas
* Calibration of equipment
* Assisting during the installation and commissioning of new plant facilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience in any of the following industries (Oil & gas, Power, renewables, waste water or water treatment, nuclear).
* Minimum 5 years maintenance experience on Low Voltage electrical distribution and PLC control equipment and associated control signals.
* Possess an electrical qualification (apprenticeship or NVQ level 3) with an excellent working knowledge of electrical control systems.
* CompEx Inspection Certificate Ex01 to Ex04.
* Experience of HV switching and operation would be an advantage.
* Low voltage experience is essential
* High voltage beneficial
* Electrical PLC control
* 3 phase motors
