Electrical Shift Engineer
Location: Middleton
Job Type: Full-time, Shift Rotation (Monday to Friday: 6-2, 2-10, 10-6)
Salary up to £48,000Join one of the largest manufacturers in their field at their site in Middleton. We are seeking a time-served Electrical Shift Engineer to provide essential electrical maintenance on their production machinery. This role demands a high level of fault-finding experience and a strong electrical background. The ideal candidate will be able to work safely, independently, and possess some mechanical knowledge.
Day-to-day of the role:
Conduct electrical maintenance and repairs on production machinery to ensure continuous operation.
Perform advanced fault-finding and diagnostics on electrical systems.
Work with 3 phase motor control circuits, relay logic and control, and PLC fault diagnosis.
Handle AC & DC variable speed drives, including fault finding on drives and drive control circuits.
Utilize knowledge of various sensors (proximity, optical, etc.) and control systems (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Telemecanique).
Read and interpret electrical drawings accurately.
Process work orders through the MMS system, ensuring efficient workflow management.
Prioritise tasks effectively, especially when faced with conflicting work priorities.
Work flexibly within the team to meet strict deadlines and minimise downtime.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Must hold the 18th Edition IET wiring regulations certification.
Qualified to a minimum of ONC or equivalent in a relevant field.
Extensive experience in safety circuit fault finding and diagnosis.
Proficient in computer usage and capable of managing work orders through an MMS system.
Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to tasks.
Excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
