Electrical Project Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join a well-established and respected M&E engineering contractor based in Exeter.

With a strong reputation built over many years, the company delivers a diverse range of projects across the South West and continues to enjoy sustained growth. Due to an internal promotion, they are now seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join their successful team.

This role offers the opportunity to oversee a varied portfolio of projects ranging from £30,000 small works packages through to larger schemes valued at £3 million. Projects span a number of sectors including education, healthcare, defence, MOD, commercial, and public sector sites.

The Role
As Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects across Devon, Somerset, and Dorset. Working closely with site supervisors, engineers, and clients, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Each project will typically have a dedicated Site Supervisor and site team, with you providing overall leadership, coordination, and commercial oversight throughout the project lifecycle. Based in the Exeter office, you will attend sites regularly.

Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple electrical projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Oversee project programmes, budgets, procurement, and resource allocation.
Lead and support Site Supervisors and site-based teams.
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments.
Monitor project performance and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
Attend site meetings and conduct regular project reviews.
Identify and resolve technical and operational issues throughout project delivery.
About You

Proven experience within the electrical contracting sector.
Previous experience as an Electrical Project Manager or contracts manager or in a similar management role.
Ideally a minimum of five years' project management experience.
Strong technical understanding of electrical building services installations.
Experience delivering projects within sectors such as healthcare, education, defence, commercial, or public sector environments.
Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Full UK driving licence.
