Description:
Electrical Project Manager - Frankfurt, Germany
Salter Grange is recruiting an experienced Electrical Project Manager on behalf of our client, a European leader in construction solutions, delivering complex engineering and construction projects for some of the world's leading corporations across Enterprise Data Centres, Advanced Technology & Life Sciences, Hyperscale Data Centres and Fire Protection.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager to join a supportive, high-performing team on large-scale, mission-critical projects, with genuine scope to develop and reach your full potential.
Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Project Manager:
* Report to the Project Manager and act as lead for all electrical scope delivery
* Lead project stakeholder engagement - establishing performance/delivery criteria, liaising with the client, design consultants and main contractor, chairing weekly reviews, and ensuring transparent KPI reporting, site mobilisation/demobilisation logistics, baseline schedule/budget and Quality/EHS plan approvals
* Direct the electrical construction and engineering teams - setting objectives, allocating resources, mentoring performance, and ensuring delivery to safety, quality, time and cost targets
* Champion company safety and quality standards, approving QA/QC plans, RAMS and permit regimes, and enforcing "Right First Time" and COHE/LOTO requirements in live environments
* Collaborate with the planner to develop a constructible schedule, monitor progress/WBS, manage variations and valuations with the QS, and support recovery plans where required
* Establish budgets, approve procurement strategies, track costs/revenue, variations and valuations, and lead weekly commercial reviews and change control
* Review IFC/design information and resolve RFIs, ensure builders' works and setting-out are complete, and maintain as-builts and O&M deliverables
* Plan labour, materials and subcontractors, align procurement and logistics to the programme, and track long-lead items and goods receipting
* Issue daily/weekly reports on progress, risks, labour projections and safety stats, maintaining a photographic diary and evidence for QA/EHS and commercial entitlement
* Oversee installation, testing and integration of UPS, STS, EPMS, generators, busbar systems, PDUs, MV/LV switchgear, earthing/bonding and critical feeders
* Coordinate interfaces with CSA, Mechanical and ICT, ensuring route access, containment, penetrations, fire-stopping and systems interfaces (BMS/SCADA/EPMS) are ready
* Plan and manage testing and commissioning - FAT/SAT, pre-functional tests, energisation steps and IST - through to punch/snag close-out and handover readiness
* Lead close-out of the final account, Safety File, QA File and project documentation with the project team
* Implement BIM collaboration in an ISO 19650-aligned Common Data Environment (CDE), with model-based coordination and disciplined information management
* Ensure Germany regulatory compliance throughout delivery, including Baustellenverordnung (SiGe-Plan and coordination), VOB/HOAI contractual frameworks, and DGUV accident prevention rules
* Align LV installations with DIN VDE 0100 (IEC 60364), ensure assemblies comply with EN/IEC 61439, and ensure fire alarm integrations meet DIN 14675
* Plan electrical infrastructure to EN 50600 data centre standards, including power supply, KPI reporting and availability classes
* Perform arc-flash and electrical safety risk assessments per DGUV guidance, selecting and labelling PPE accordingly
* Coordinate grid connections with the DSO/TSO, complying with Technical Connection Rules (VDE-AR-N 4110/4120) and local TAB requirements where applicable
Essential Criteria for the Electrical Project Manager role:
* Trade background and/or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
* 7+ years' experience leading large electrical installation projects, ideally mission-critical/data centres
* Strong command of MV/LV power distribution, UPS/generator systems, EPMS/BMS integration and commissioning
* Proven programme, commercial and stakeholder management skills; fluent English
* Working knowledge of DIN VDE 0100/IEC 60364, EN/IEC 61439, DIN 14675, and site EHS governance
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience delivering to EN 50600 and familiarity with EU EED/EnEfG energy efficiency obligations for data centres
* Hands-on BIM/CDE (ISO 19650) workflows and 4D planning integration
* Knowledge of VOB/B and HOAI phases, and experience coordinating grid connections to VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 and TAB requirements
* DGUV arc-flash assessment, PPE selection, and authoring of switching procedures and energisation plans
* Strong negotiation skills and supply-chain resilience planning for long-lead equipment
