The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing M&E contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across the South East.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the electrical delivery of a £3.5 million CAT B commercial fit-out at Thames Valley Park, Reading.

The project comprises a CAT B fit-out across three floors delivered over three phases, offering an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative business with a strong pipeline of future work. Following the successful completion of this project, there will be opportunities to work on specialist laboratory refurbishments and office-to-lab conversion projects across Oxfordshire.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the electrical package while coordinating closely with the wider MEP team.

You will act as the primary client contact on site, managing the electrical subcontractors while overseeing coordination with the mechanical and public health teams to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You will also manage an experienced Site Manager who has been with the business for over two years, with ongoing support from the Head of Operations and Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the electrical package on a £3.5m CAT B commercial fit-out
Coordinate electrical subcontractors whilst working closely with the wider MEP delivery team
Act as the main client-facing representative on site
Attend and chair meetings with clients, consultants, architects, design teams, project managers and subcontractors
Manage procurement, programme and project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
Monitor project progress, quality and commercial performance
Review technical submissions, drawings and RFIs
Coordinate commissioning, testing, snagging and final handover
Ensure all works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget
Build and maintain excellent client relationships throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the Building Services or M&E sector
Experience delivering commercial fit-out, refurbishment or CAT A/CAT B office projects
Experience managing electrical packages valued at £3 million+
Strong understanding of electrical building services installations
Experience managing electrical subcontractors on fast-paced commercial projects
Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
SMSTS
Full UK Driving Licence
