We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join an established and growing M&E engineering company based in the King's Lynn area.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to take responsibility for delivering a variety of technically challenging electrical projects, working across commercial, industrial and manufacturing environments.
The successful candidate will have a strong electrical background and be confident managing projects from initial planning and design through to installation, commissioning and handover.
The Role
As Electrical Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Managing electrical projects from inception through to completion and handover
• Planning and coordinating labour, materials, plant and subcontractors
• Managing project programmes, budgets and costs
• Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
• Working closely with design and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical information
• Managing procurement and ensuring materials are available when required
• Overseeing electrical installation works and ensuring they meet the required standards
• Coordinating testing, commissioning and handover activities
• Monitoring project progress and providing regular updates to senior management and clients
• Managing variations, valuations and project costs
• Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with current health & safety requirements
• Maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
• Managing and supporting site teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully
The Projects
The company delivers a broad range of M&E and electrical engineering projects, including:
• Commercial and industrial installations
• Manufacturing and FMCG environments
• Electrical power and distribution systems
• LV, MV and HV installations
• Control panels and MCCs
• BMS and FMS systems
• Lighting and lighting control systems
• UPS and standby power installations
• Fire, security and associated electrical systems
• Electrical testing, inspection and commissioning
• Planned and reactive works
• Design and build projects
About You
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Manager who can demonstrate a strong track record of successfully delivering electrical projects.
You will ideally have:
• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within an M&E, building services or electrical contracting environment
• A strong technical understanding of electrical installations
• Experience managing projects from design through to completion
• Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets
• Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• A strong understanding of health & safety and compliance
• Good knowledge of electrical regulations and industry standards
• A proactive approach with the ability to resolve issues effectively
Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, ECS, HNC/HND or a degree in Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
