Company Overview:
We are a leading manufacturing company specializing in carbon steel products. We are seeking an experienced maintenance electrician to join our team on a permanent basis.
Position Overview:
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of plant equipment to ensure production output is maintained. You will work alongside a team of technicians under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager. This role requires working Monday to Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 1pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair a wide range of plant equipment, including mechanical power presses, slab lasers, welding equipment, conveyor lines, fume extraction systems, hoists, lifting tables, and hand tools.
Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on equipment to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Work on breakdowns to ensure plant and equipment are kept in serviceable condition to maintain production output.
Repair hand grinders and other small hand tools as required.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and wear provided personal protective equipment.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks.
Document maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
Requirements:
Time-served electrician with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Experience with PLCs and fault-finding is essential.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment maintenance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Willingness to work back on breakdowns and overtime as required.
Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay rate of £16.25 per hour, with an attendance bonus (£30 per week) averaging £17 per hour.
Monday to Thursday working hours from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 1pm.
Personal protective equipment provided by the company.
