Temporary Facilities Maintenance Electrical Engineer
Location: Northampton
Contract: Temporary (Minimum 1 Month)
Start Date: 17th August
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (some flexibility available)
Pay Rate: £26.00–£28.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Overtime: Available
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join the maintenance team at a large, busy shopping centre in Northampton on a temporary contract with an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrical maintenance engineer with a strong background in commercial building maintenance and facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and building services.
* Respond to reactive maintenance and fault-finding requests.
* Test, inspect, and maintain emergency lighting systems.
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently.
* Complete maintenance records and job reports accurately.
* Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with current regulations.
* Liaise with the site team to minimise disruption to tenants and visitors.
Essential Requirements
* City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
* Previous experience within commercial facilities maintenance.
* Strong fault-finding and electrical maintenance skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
