About the Role
We are seeking an inspiring Electrical Installation Tutor to join an education provider in the justice sector, delivering meaningful vocational learning within a prison education setting. This is a unique opportunity to support learners on their rehabilitation journey, helping them build the practical skills, confidence and qualifications needed to progress into employment and shape brighter futures.
You'll deliver engaging and inclusive electrical installation lessons to learners with a wide range of educational backgrounds, learning needs and abilities. Many of your learners will have had difficult experiences of education, so patience, empathy and a genuine belief in each individual's potential will matter as much as your technical knowledge.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering electrical installation qualifications to groups of learners.
Conducting initial assessments and diagnostics to identify learners' starting points and needs.
Planning and adapting lessons to meet a diverse range of abilities and learning styles.
Demonstrating safe and practical electrical installation skills in a workshop setting.
Monitoring and recording learner progress against qualification requirements.
Maintaining a safe, well-organised learning environment in line with workshop and site procedures.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Relevant electrical installation trade experience or qualifications
A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of learners
Patience, resilience and a genuine commitment to supporting learner progress
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience delivering training or mentoring in a vocational setting
Previous experience working within a prison, secure or justice setting
